78 Series Troopy Rear Ladders

Get Up and Down the Troopy Roof Safely

The Troop Carrier is the tallest vehicle in the 70 Series range, and getting onto the roof without a ladder means standing on the rear tyre, reaching for the gutter rail, and pulling yourself up in a way that is uncomfortable, unsafe, and guaranteed to dent the bodywork over time. A rear ladder gives you proper footholds from ground level to roof height, making it easy to climb up and down safely every time you need to access the roof rack, set up a roof top tent, deploy an awning, or load and unload gear from up top. On a touring Troopy where you are climbing onto the roof multiple times a day, a ladder is not optional.

Built for the Height of the Troop Carrier

Troopy ladders are taller than wagon and ute cab ladders to account for the extra height of the Troop Carrier body. Our ladders are constructed from steel or aluminium with wide, flat steps that are spaced for easy climbing in work boots, hiking boots, or bare feet. The durable powder coated finish resists rust, UV damage, and the general wear that comes from constant use in harsh conditions. Each ladder mounts to the rear of the Troopy using the barn door hinges or rear body panel with the supplied hardware, sitting close to the body to minimise how far it protrudes from the rear of the vehicle. No drilling into the bodywork is required for most installations.

Troopy Ladders for VDJ78 and GDJ78

Ladders are available for both the VDJ78 V8 (2007 to 2023) and the GDJ78 facelift (2024 onward). The Troopy rear body is largely unchanged between both variants so most ladders fit across both model years. A rear ladder is the natural companion to a Troopy roof rack and is almost always purchased at the same time. If you are running a roof top tent, the ladder is your staircase to bed every night and the first thing your feet find every morning. For expedition and touring Troopy builds, the ladder is one of those essentials that makes everything else on the roof practical to use on a daily basis.
